Budget, functions, timelines, and growth all matter. Five year plans matter. The feel of a handle, or the shadow created by a well placed light matter. Ultimately, it must be a true and believed understanding of all the needs, wishes, and wants that when systematically interwoven make a volume a space, and a shelter an opportunity for generations of enjoyment.

Founded in 2001, MODULUS is a full service design studio based in Silicon Valley, California. As a design-obsessed, experience-driven firm placing client satisfaction at the forefront, we specialize in the creation of innovative, functional and distinctly unique spaces, environments and objects. Our client list ranges from renowned corporations to bold entrepreneurs and close-knit families. We are internationally recognized for our creative designs and spaces, and additionally continue to advance making the furniture, elements, and objects we fabricate more publicly available. Our studio also has a symbiotic partnership with CAM and within their 10,000 square foot fabrication shell operation affords our combined diverse and talented team of designers, artisans and fabricators the ability to support the needs and visions of our clients from start to finish.

David is the founder of MODULUS ARCHITECTURE, INC. and Principal in charge of design and production. He has over two decades of experience in the design and construction of a wide range of project types since graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He has been a visiting juror at local architectural schools, taught design studio at West Valley College, juried international competitions, and currently is working on a variety of projects ranging from residential to retail, and corporate to cabin. Not only has MODULUS garnered numerous architectural awards, but David has also won honors for graphics, web design, object design, and written articles. David is also currently engaged in formulating positive change throughout Silicon Valley and San Jose by being a member of the Downtown Design Committee (DDC) and SPUR. He is a Licensed Architect in multiple states, LEED and NCARB certified, and honored recipient of the Pillars of the Community Award, AIASCV President's Award, and Golden Web Award. His ability to generate impressive returns for many of his development clients sparked the desire to enter the development field, and over the past 5 years has initiated the development process on no less than four residential developments within the Bay Area ranging from single family residence to 120 unit multi-family structures. It is his long-term desire to help transform San Jose into a truly world-class city of pride & honor by crafting spaces of merit, warmth, and emotion for all to enjoy.
